PODD is an efficient and organized communication system for individuals with complex communication needs and their communication partners. PODD is an integrated, multi-modal AAC system that supports autonomous communication at any time. Authored by Gayle Porter, PODD is available in different formats (communication books and high tech SGD) to meet individual needs.

The PODD page sets for Mind Express 5 are offered in high tech versions for SGD devices, such as the Vibe, the Tellus, or the Mobi. These page sets are the official and most current PODD versions in English (US/UK/AUS) for Mind Express 5. They were developed by Jabbla in close collaboration with Gayle Porter.

PODD 15+ Preschool US and School US page sets

The PODD 15+ page sets are designed for preschool and school age children who are beginning to combine words into 1-2 key word sentences and / or require receptive use of symbols to support their understanding of other people’s messages. These page sets include numerous built-in scaffolds such as pragmatic branch starters and predictable links to efficiently support more intelligible communication at this stage of aided language development. 

PODD 60 Complex US page set

The PODD 60 complex US page set is designed for children and teenagers who are able to use whole words, symbols, and word morphology to produce complex sentences to communicate for a full range of purposes. Spelling with word prediction is available, but a large vocabulary is available for people still learning to spell and to increase efficiency for those individuals who  can spell for communication.

PODD 60 complex US page set includes sentence starters, core and predictably associated vocabulary to increase the efficiency of communication. 

PODD 60 Expanded Keyword US page set

The PODD 60 expanded keyword US page set is designed for children and teenagers who are able to use keyword sentences and are learning to communicate for a full range of purposes using symbols, whole words, word morphology spelling, and word prediction.

The PODD 60 expanded keyword US page set includes sentence starters, core and predictably associated vocabulary to increase the efficiency of communication. 

Where to find and import PODD page sets in Mind Express 5:

(Important Note: You will have to purchase a PODD license after the 30 days free trial period ends to continue using PODD page sets if you have not already purchased a PODD license.)

1. Log in as a user in Mind Express 5.
2. Select Menu > Import.
3. Click From Mind Express sharing website in the Import screen.
4. Select Symbol communication in the From Mind Express sharing website screen.
5. Perform a search for PODD page sets or scroll down or up in the Symbol communication page sets list until you find a PODD page set that you want to import in the From Mind Express sharing website screen.
6. Select the PODD page set(s) that you want to import into the current Mind Express 5 user and click Import.

What is needed to permanently run these page sets?

A license to activate the PODD page sets by Jabbla in Mind Express 5 with PCS symbols.

Hardware Requirements:

• Operating System: Microsoft Windows® 10
• Processor: Intel x86 compatible
• RAM: 2GB or more
• Free Hard Disk Space: 2GB or more

Software Requirements:

• Mind Express 5 permanent (1 user) web license with PCS symbols

Symbol Requirements:

• PCS symbols are required for PODD page sets 

Other Requirements:

• You will need to submit your Mind Express 5 serial number from the Menu > Help to purchase a PODD license.
• The Windows 10 PC will need to have access to the Internet or World Wide Web to be able to properly activate the single user PODD page sets license in Mind Express 5.

• This license will allow you to activate PODD page sets created by Jabbla in a Mind Express 5 permanent 1 user web license for 1 concurrent user.
• It will take approximately one to three business days to receive a PODD single user license confirmation activation email after purchasing it from this website.
• This license is only for PODD page sets in Mind Express 5 by Jabbla, not Mind Express 5.

How to find the serial number in Mind Express 5:

1. Launch and sign in to Mind Express 5 with PCS symbols on your Windows 10 PC. 
2. Choose a user in Mind Express 5.
3. Select Menu > Help in Mind Express 5.
4. The serial number for Mind Express 5 will appear in the Help window. The serial number will begin with ME. 

How to verify your PODD single user license has been activated in a Mind Express 5 web license with PCS symbols after purchase.

1. Launch and sign into Mind Express 5 with PCS symbols on your Windows 10 PC with access to the Internet. (Note: You need to sign in to Mind Express 5 with the same serial number that you entered to purchase PODD on this website.)
2. Choose a user in Mind Express 5.
3. Select Menu > Settings > System > License in Mind Express 5.
4. In License information, Activated pagesets should include PODD-com.

Important Notes:

• It usually takes 1 to 3 business days to receive a PODD activation confirmation email for your submitted Mind Express 5 (1 User) permanent web license serial number after purchasing it.
• This license is only for PODD page sets created by Jabbla, not Mind Express 5.
• Do not try to purchase a PODD single user license without a valid Mind Express 5 serial number.
• PODD page sets require PCS symbols.
